Metro Detroit foreclosures

What should you expect when buying a Metro Detroit foreclosure?  Well first of all you should have no expectation of what the house looks like inside.  Remember if somebody let their home go to foreclosuremost likely they did not spend money on the house in the last year to two years.

Why should they?  It isn’t their house and they don’t care.  So most Metro Detroit foreclosures will need at the minimum…. Some TLC (tender loving care) to bring them back to good condition.  They will most likely need paint and carpet at the minimum.

You never know what is inside until you walk through the front door.  Some Metro Detroit foreclosures have been destroyed because the old homeowner was mad at the bank.  Sometimes they take the cabinets off the walls and the toilets out of the bathrooms.  They will take anything from doors to landscaping (brick pavers and all).

If you walk into a Metro Detroit foreclosure and it is in good condition or move in condition it is a rarity.  Sometimes a few banks will spend money to get the top price for a home.  Sometimes they will paint and carpet a home.  So the bottom line is to expect the unexpected when going to look at Metro Detroit foreclosures.
